The Full Story

THE BEGINNING

In the March 1991 acoustic legend Richard "Dick" Booker introduced the first wool based insulation product called Acoustifleece to the Greater Sydney market. Peace & Quiet Systems Pty Ltd was set up as the exclusive distributor of Wool Industries Australasia Pty Ltd, supplying Acoustifleec to the broader market. In 1995 Dick introduced a new Australian Wool Insulation product called Insulfleece to the market as part of being an approved supplier of noise insulation materials and insulation services for the Sydney Aircraft Noise Insulation Project (SANIP), a project designed to insulate the roofs of houses surrounding the Sydney Airport.

Wool is nature's greatest insulator and Peace & Quiet's business was built on supplying this Australian grown and produced wool based product - Insulfleece.

THE JOURNEY

Over the next 25 or so years Dick grew the business by introducing a number of complimentary acoustic products to become the supplier and installer of Australia's widest range of noise insulation materials, designed to attenuate noise in all new and existing buildings. These products all fell under a number of trade marked brands that Dick developed along the way. These brands can still be found under the OUR PRODUCTS tab above.

In 2016 Dick started battling some health issues and decided to pass the baton on.

The current owners Kevin Rule & Ray Balcomb bought the business and renamed it Peace & Quiet Group Pty Ltd and it continues to operate as is today.

Due to the ecomomics of natural material production, and the many cheaper alternatives, which provided the equivalent acoustic outcome, it was unfortunately decided in 2018 to no longer supply Insulfleece or wool based products to the market. This was a very sad day in our journey as the product on which the business was initially founded, had become economically redundant.

Now 10 years from the initial purchase and we continue to supply & install the widest range of products for noise attenuation in any form.

Mission

To deliver Peace & Quiet to anybody impacted in any way by noise pollution through the supply and/or installation of relevant acoustic solutions which transforms debilitating noise back into non-irritating sound.

Vision

Use our extensive acoustic experience to become a global provider of acoustic knowledge and solutions, to demystify the somewhat technical niche of noise reduction and soundproofing.

Installations

Peace & Quiet utilise subcontract installers who are mostly licensed builders with long term experience installing acoustic insulation to Architect and Acoustic Engineers specifications. We supply Australia’s widest range of acoustic insulation materials. If P&Q does not have your acoustic materials requirements readily available, we search for them and supply at the lowest possible cost.
